Alston Koch becomes a classic sensation at the Academy Awards ‘After Party’

 Legendary Sri Lankan singer, song writer; producer and actor Alston Koch made Sri Lanka proud by the special invitation he received as an exclusive entertainer at the America-China sponsored “After Party” held after the star-studded Academy Awards presentation at the exclusive Sofitel Hotel at Beverley Hills recently. It was  a spectacular sight to behold many Hollywood celebrities, popstars, beauty queens from various countries, elite LosAngeles personalities turning up in their Bentleys, Lamborghinis and Rolls Royces lined up well before  the grand event. The evening was named as the “Nite of the Year” with tickets issued at the rate of $1500.

Alston who arrived in Los Angeles from Melbourne on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight was greeted by the President of the America-China Business Association Robert Sun and Producer-Director of the ‘’Academy awards’’ and ‘’Oscars’’ After party Sidney Muldrow.

Expressing his delight for being invited to the prestigious event Alston said: “Indeed it was a great privilege to be asked to perform at the Academy Awards ‘After Party’ by the President of the America -China ACCS Organization which is a huge force in the Hollywood film industry.

‘’I was welcomed by a very receptive audience and I took the opportunity to mention the fact that I was born in Sri Lanka, the beautiful little “tear drop island in the Indian Ocean. I must also mention that in February I was invited to attend the ‘Grammy Awards’ as a member of the Grammy Academy and both events made me proud to be a Sri Lankan.”   he added.

Alston Koch, the multi- talented Sri Lankan celebrity has done  his country proud by achieving a large number of awards for his musical talent and also his endearing and charitable services to his motherland, Sri Lanka. In addtion a large number of prestigious titles including the membership of the Grammy Academy, (U.S.A), member of the Australian Performing Right Association (APRA) , Ambassador for climate change , (I.C.T.P) , Member of the PPCA, (Performing & Publishing  Copy Right Association of Australia ), member of the AMCOS (Australasian  Mechanical Copyright organization ), Ambassador for the Family Film Awards   (U.S.A ) for Australia, and the Ambassador for Arts for Peace foundation,(U.S.A ).

Alston was also awarded the ‘’ World Artist of the year’’ at the Global Officials of Dignity Awards, presented at the United Nations in New York and also received the State of California Senate’s Certificate of Recognition and Certificate of Special US Congressional Recognition for improving the lives of communities in America.

He was often lauded in the Australian and Asian media as the “Asia’s King of Pop” or “Pop King of Asia” after gaining international success in the late 1970s. He has performed worldwide and achieved international success in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India and Sri Lanka among other places. Thus Alston has been able to keep the Sri Lankan flag flying high – and also as a proud Sri Lankan who has placed the Sri Lanka mark in its due place on the global map.

During the Christmas Holiday Season Alston entertained both  President & Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and opened the famous ‘Christmas Street’ in Colombo city​  supported by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. ​
