First largest common carrier vessel calls at the JCT

Mv. Northern Jupiter, the first largest common carrier vessel made its maiden port call to Port of Colombo, when she berthed at the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) for cargo operations recently. It was handled by Simatech Marine Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as they are the exclusive agents for Singapore based Feedtech Pte Ltd.

 Feedertech Pte Ltd had deployed the 2010 built Mv. Northern Jupiter in the China/Straits-India Sub Continent Service (CISC) jointly operated by Feedertech with COSCO, Evergreen, Hapag Lloyd, PIL, YML, TS Lines and the newly formed Ocean Network Express (ONE). Each line will deploy one vessel each in this service. The 8814 TEU Capacity, 335 Meter Length Overall (LOA) vessel of 94,407GT Mv. Northern Jupiter would be the first largest common carrier vessel calls the port of Colombo. Upgrading the CISC service average capacity deployment from 5500 TEUs to 8500 TEUs is to cater to the growth and market requirements, connecting Far East & India to Sri Lanka.

Feedertech Pte Ltd operates 6 weekly services, of which 3 services calls the port of Colombo. These including the two vessel deployed Colombo~Chittagong~Colombo Shuttle Service, and the joint Asian Gulf Express (AGI) jointly operated with EMC, COSCO and KMTC.
