Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) stepped up a two-day inspection of key Sri Lanka Army ammunition and ordnance storage facilities, accompanied by Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) and Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo.
He looked over operational setups and reviewed safety and security standards. Later, he led a high-level meeting with senior officers to take up critical matters—tightening security systems, drawing up emergency response plans, and refining Standard Operating Procedures to ensure smooth coordination and accountability.
The Defence Ministry, working closely with other national security agencies, will continue to push forward initiatives to enhance and monitor security across all military establishments, aligning with national defence objectives.
