JICA–Dialog Collaboration Springs Back to Life to Advance Sustainable Prosperity

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Dialog Axiata PLC have reaffirmed their alliance through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at stepping up Sri Lanka’s socio-economic development agenda. Building on the momentum of their earlier collaboration, the renewed partnership seeks to expand cooperation across key areas such as digital innovation, education, financial inclusion, gender equality, disaster resilience, and agriculture.

Mr. Kenji Kuronuma, Chief Representative of the JICA Sri Lanka Office, noted that combining JICA’s global development expertise with Dialog’s technological strength will enable the creation of scalable, people-centered solutions to address Sri Lanka’s most pressing challenges. Mr. Supun Weerasinghe, Director and Group Chief Executive of Dialog Axiata PLC, emphasized the partnership’s role in bridging digital and social divides and driving inclusive growth nationwide.

Through this revitalized collaboration, JICA and Dialog demonstrate how public–private synergy can ignite lasting transformation and pave the way for a more resilient, digitally empowered Sri Lanka.
