His First Call, at the Ministry of Defence

The newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Sri Lanka, H.E. Wei Huaziang, made his first courtesy call on Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence on 22 September.
The meeting brought the Chinese envoy and Sri Lanka’s Defence Secretary together for discussions on matters of mutual interest, including the longstanding relationship between the two countries and continued cooperation in the field of defence.
During the cordial exchange, the Defence Secretary expressed his deep appreciation for China’s continued support and cooperation with Sri Lanka.
Senior Colonel Fu Xiao, Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Colombo, was also present at the meeting.
