Defence Talks Affirm Mutual Esteem Between Nations

The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Adel Ibrahim, paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sampath Thuyacontha, at the Ministry of Defence on 26 September.

The cordial meeting reflected the spirit of mutual respect and diplomatic goodwill between the two nations. Discussions centred on enhancing bilateral relations, with particular focus on strengthening defence cooperation and exploring opportunities for academic and professional exchange between military institutions.

Ambassador Ibrahim reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening defence ties with Sri Lanka, emphasising the value of shared expertise and collaborative initiatives. Both parties acknowledged the importance of continued engagement, affirming mutual esteem and a shared commitment to regional stability and strategic partnership.
