A Parting Call Marked by Appreciation

The outgoing Ambassador of Egypt to Sri Lanka, H.E. Adel Ibrahim, paid a farewell call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Ministry of Defence on August 17.

During the meeting, the Defence Secretary expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Ibrahim’s valuable contribution towards further strengthening the longstanding ties between Sri Lanka and Egypt during his tenure. He also conveyed his best wishes for the Ambassador’s success in his future endeavours and thanked him for his dedicated service in fostering closer relations between the two nations.

Ambassador Ibrahim expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by the Ministry of Defence and the Government of Sri Lanka throughout his diplomatic assignment. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to maintaining strong and friendly relations with Sri Lanka.

The discussions also focused on avenues for further enhancing bilateral defence cooperation, including strengthening existing defence relations and exploring opportunities for future engagements and cooperation between the two countries.
