Sri Lanka to Set the Stage for 27th Presidential Export Awards at BMICH

Sri Lanka is all set to roll out the 27th Presidential Export Awards on December 11, 2025, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Organized by the Export Development Board (EDB), the prestigious ceremony will shine a spotlight on exporters who have propelled the nation’s economy and opened doors to global markets. Since its inception in 1981, the PEA has stood as the country’s highest recognition for export excellence.
This year’s event will bring together nearly 1,500 distinguished guests, including Cabinet Ministers, diplomats, senior officials, and leading exporters. A total of 66 awards — comprising 15 overall and 51 sectoral accolades — will go to exporters who have excelled in innovation, sustainability, diversification, and value addition.
Applications poured in this year, and following a thorough evaluation by a technical committee, a panel chaired by a retired Supreme Court Judge — supported by Ernst & Young (EY) as Knowledge Partner — selected the nation’s top achievers.
Aligned with the new government’s policy framework, the awards aim to boost export growth by encouraging innovation, product diversification, and local brand development, while promoting sustainable trade practices. Winners will walk away with trophies, certificates, and the exclusive right to use the Presidential Export Awards logo for three years — a true badge of honour on the international stage.
The event, led by EDB Chairman & CEO Mangala Wijesinghe, guided by Minister Sunil Handunneththi, and supported by Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe, is powered by People’s Bank as Platinum Sponsor. The Sri Lanka Tea Board and Export Credit Insurance Corporation have joined hands as Silver Sponsors, working together to strengthen Sri Lanka’s export momentum and global presence.
