Sri Lankan Tech Firms Explore European Opportunities

Five Sri Lankan ICT companies successfully participated in a European market exposure programme organized under the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) and Import Promotion Desk Germany (IPD) initiative, strengthening Sri Lanka’s growing presence in the European technology sector.

The programme began with participation at Hannover Messe in Germany, where Sri Lankan companies engaged in pre-arranged business-to-business meetings with European firms, showcasing capabilities in software development, digital transformation, AI, fintech, and enterprise technology.

The delegation later continued to Berlin, taking part in ecosystem tours, keynote sessions, workshops, and networking events with startups, investors, and industry experts, gaining deeper insight into the German innovation landscape.

The programme also extended to Stockholm, where participants attended the Nordic Growth Summit, networking sessions hosted by Impact Hub, strategic meetings at Tech Arena, and a visit to Nordea Bank to better understand Nordic business practices and fintech innovation.

The initiative generated valuable market exposure, strategic partnerships, business leads, and follow-up opportunities while helping participating companies refine European market-entry strategies and strengthen long-term international collaboration. The programme also highlighted the growing importance of continued engagement between Sri Lankan ICT firms and European partners in building sustainable commercial relationships and supporting future export growth.
