Lakwin Air granted AOC for providing Domestic commercial Air Transport

Lakwin Aviation (Pvt) Ltd was certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to provide domestic commercial civil passenger & cargo transport services after full filling the necessary requirements.

The Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was handed over by Mr. P. A. Jayakantha, Director General of Civil Aviation & Chief Executive Officer (DGCA & CEO) to Chief Executive Officer of Lakwin Air on behalf of Mr. Lakshitha Weerasinghe Accountable Manager of Lakwin Air.

The entry of more airlines to the Sri Lanka air transport industry will be a catalyst to the national economy through the promotion of the tourism industry.

The Application submitted by Lakwin Air was scrutinized by the Civil Aviation Inspectors of CAASL by considering the organizational structure, aircraft capability, availability of qualified & well trained staff, instruments/ equipment and other required facilities & documents for the certification under the guidance of Mr. P. A. Jayakantha, the DGCA & CEO and the leadership of Mr. Saman Gunawerdena, Deputy Director General (Flight Safety Regulations) of the CAASL.

DGCA & CEO emphasized that the AOC holder shall be required to maintain standards for Air Safety & Security of all activities and the Lakwin Air representatives promised to act as per the scope of the AOC.

Capt. Lushan Fernando, Director (Aircraft Operations), Senior Civil Aviation Inspector Mr. Eranga Dasanayake, Mr. Isuru Sarathchchandra, Capt. Daminda Rambukwella of CAASL were also present on this occasion while Capt. Hirantha Perera, Director Operations and other senior Officers represented the Airline
