State Defence Minister praises the Army troops for their services

State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon praised the services rendered by Sri Lanka Army troops at the Army Headquarters situated in Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Yesterday (Mar 21).

State Minister Tennakoon, accompanied by the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security Mr. Sagala Rathnayake expressed his views during his maiden visit made to the Army Headquarters today.

Army Commander Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage warmly received the visiting high officials on their arrival and they were invited for a cordial interaction with the senior officers and troops serving at the Army Headquarters during the session.

Ensuing the exchange of pleasantries, Lt. Gen. Liyanage presented mementos to the State Minister and the Chief of Staff to the President to symbolize the first visit and as a gesture of goodwill.

Senior Army officers including the Chief of Staff and troops were present at the occasion.
