Breaking Ground, Building Markets: Sri Lanka’s Export Champions

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) wrapped up the 27th Presidential Export Awards (PEA) on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), under the patronage of Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister. The ceremony honoured Sri Lanka’s most dynamic exporters, recognising their pivotal role in boosting the nation’s economy and putting local brands on the international map.

Since its inception in 1981, the Presidential Export Awards have celebrated excellence in exports, with the 27th edition drawing around 1,500 guests, including government officials, diplomats, and industry leaders. A total of 107 awards were presented across overall, product, and service categories, highlighting achievements from market diversification to sustainability and value addition.

This year’s awards reflected Sri Lanka’s ambitious push to expand exports under the new government’s policy framework. The ceremony also spotlighted innovation, regional development, and the growing influence of Sri Lankan brands worldwide. Winners were bestowed with trophies, certificates, and the right to use the Presidential Export Awards logo for three years—an emblem of excellence and global recognition.

Standout winners of the 27th PEA included:

  • Best SME Exporter of the Year – Service Sector: Lanka Hydraulic Institute Limited
  • Best SME Exporter of the Year – Product Sector: Hero Nature Products (Pvt) Ltd
  • Emerging Exporter of the Year: Bughary Bio Spices (Pvt) Ltd
  • Woman Exporter of the Year: Senikma Holdings (Pvt) Ltd
  • Innovative Export Service of the Year: Sysco Labs Technologies (Pvt) Ltd
  • Innovative Export Product of the Year: Ultracarb (Pvt) Ltd
  • Contributor to Sustainable Development in Exports: Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC
  • Exporter of the Year: Omega Line Limited

Key sponsors included People’s Bank (Platinum) and Sri Lanka Tea Board & SLECIC (Silver), while Ernst & Young served as the Knowledge Partner.

The event celebrated not just business success, but the spirit of resilience, creativity, and global ambition that drives Sri Lanka’s exporters. From introducing local brands to international markets to pioneering sustainability initiatives, these trailblazers are propelling the country’s economic growth and shaping a vibrant export future.
