CSD Carries Out a Tribute to Its Heroes on 19th Anniversary

On its 19th anniversary, the Civil Security Department (CSD) carried out a solemn tribute honoring the bravery and sacrifices of its members at the Civil Defence Forces Memorial in Mihintale. Under the patronage of Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) and leadership of CSD Director General Major General Palitha Fernando (Retd), the ceremony paid deep respect to fallen heroes and disabled veterans who served during Sri Lanka’s humanitarian operations.
Rooted in its origins as the Home Guard Service, the CSD has steadfastly contributed to national security and community resilience. The Defence Secretary’s heartfelt address and personal engagement with personnel and their families underscored the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to their welfare.
The event was further sanctified by the presence of the Maha Sangha and clergy from various faiths, adding a spiritual dimension to this meaningful remembrance. Through this tribute, the CSD reaffirmed its enduring legacy of courage, service, and dedication to the nation.
